Unpacking the Doopydoos Resin Model Kit

While my wife gave birth this week...my Doopydoos resin kit arrived in the mail. Once I had a chance after getting home from the hospital I opened up the package. The quality of these parts are amazing. If you are questioning whether or not to buy them? Do so. They are very well made. Enjoy the pictures. CLICK ON PICTURES TO ENLARGE THEM.

Let it begin...

Finally started working on the blaster. Tonight, I began by cutting off the small tip from the front of the barrel. Then unscrewing the (2) small screws from the barrel sight and the bottom of the barrel along with the the first (3) screws above the trigger to allow me to pry open the barrel to bend back the LED light into the body. ....sorry if the flash made it too bright for detail. After pulling back the LED light into the barrel...I rescrewed all of the 4-5 screws I removed earlier and proceeded to saw off the larger, remaining orange barrel end. I used a small handsaw to do this and it only took 30 seconds to saw through. Just make sure you hold the saw straight and dont move to fast and get sloppy. I thought the plastic on the Hasbro Blaster would be hard but it's much softer than i imagined it would be. Following this I did a wet sand of the area i cut off w/ 600 Grit sandpaper and used an Xacto knife to remove all of the "plastic crusties" from around the small edges of the barrel. Next i will be trying to get the raised FCC and CE logos / writing from the side of the blaster. Started doing it with an Xacto knife. Any tips?

Starting to prep the blaster

I picked up some epoxy putty today for use on filling in the screw holes of the Hasbro Blaster. Tonight I am going to begin prepping the blaster for when my Doopydoos Resin Kit arrives. Tonight I will cut off the orange tip of the blaster, sand off the Empire logo on both sides of blaster, push back the LED light inside the barrel, and sand the entire gun down in general. Pictures to follow.

Starting My Hasbro E-11 Mods

For a long time now, I have always wanted to join up with the 501st Legion and go trooping alongside fellow Star Wars fanatics. I still need to save up for the TK armor, but I figured that I’ll begin the task of modding a Hasbro Stormtrooper Blaster. So far I have ordered the Hasbro Stormtrooper Blaster (www.hasbrotoyshop.com) for $29 after shipping, E-11 Hasbro Conversion Resin Kit (http://www.doopydoos.com/stormtrooper-e-11-hasbro-blaster-conversion-skin-kit-207-p.asp) for $34 after shipping and I have also begun gathering the materials needed to assemble the blaster. I have the E6000 epoxy adhesive, 600 Grit Wet/Dry sandpaper, Krylon Fusion spray paint (satin black and hammered metal). I still need to get some sandable putty or Bondo and also a Dremel tool or hacksaw. But those are easy to come by. I hope to get my resin kit in the mail this week. Just had my Blaster delivered in the mail though. I have been researching and reading tutorials on tons of forums as well as other troopers’ sites. Everyone out there has some really cool modifications. Can't wait to start on mine. I'll be posting pictures and comments as I work on it. Check back for more updates.
